Meet on Friday: the exclusive event in Fiumicino with tasting dinner

On October 7th, our second Tasting Dinner event took place with a wine tasting at the Diportista Restaurant in via Monte Cadria 95 in Fiumicino.

“Meet on Friday” is the name of this recurring appointment, in which the Diportista’s seafood dishes meet the wines on the menu. Here, after the first evening with the wines of Lazio, this time we have chosen some of the Italian labels most renowned.

“A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world”
– Louis Paster

TheWine Tasting it is a very ancient discipline, as much as the first man who pressed grapes to make a drink. It established itself as such, however, only starting from the fourteenth century, or so the first evidence relating to the study of wine seems to suggest.

Tasting has changed over the years, becoming today a moment of comparison, aggregation.

Discovering Italian winery

This Tasting Event saw four Italian wineries .

A journey that crosses Italy, starting from Trentino with the Revì winey, passing through Piedmont with theMichele Chiarlo winery, descending into Tuscany withBanfi, until arriving in Sardinia withSaraja.

To make the food and wine journey more pleasant, four courses from appetizers to desserts.

Tasting dinner and matching wines

The tasting dinner includes:

  • Sea bass carpaccio with citrus, mint, smoked salt and squid ink wafer paired withRevì Brut Trento Doc Millesimato an ideal bubble as an aperitif, with a fruity and floral aroma. Intense, soft and harmonious although decidedly Brut.
  • Cavatelli with baby octopus, squid, prawns and seafood Cavatelli con Vongole, fagiolini, Pachino, Vene Cress e Cipolla Rosa paired withLa Pettegola, wine of Banfi winery.
  • Sea bream with air-cooked purple potatoes, yuzu powder, pistachio and rosemary combined with Saraja Kintari, a wineable to perfectly accompany fish dishes, whichit reflects the land, the salinity, the depth typical of Sardinia. On the palate it is rich, sapid and harmonious.
  • Catalan cream with Yerba mate combined with Moscato D’Asti DOCG Nivole by Michele Chiarlo which has been defined as the best dessert wine in the world: for this reason it needs no further introduction. The floral notes of peach and apricot married our dessert perfectly.

A tasting event not to be missed

The event was once again a unique opportunity for aggregation, culture and entertainment, a stimulating mix not to stay when the summer evenings begin to peep out.
